When you sponsor a child, you are linked with one particular child who will know you. If you decide to sponsor a child please make a commitment to do so faithfully for a period of one year or at least a period of six months at a time. Of course you may sponsor a child for long term and that of course would be preferable. If you are sponsoring and are no longer able to continue with the sponsorship please be so kind as to notify us of your discontinuance. It is really difficult to provide for children properly when we do not know if or when we will be receiving ongoing funding. Benefits of a commitment to sponsor for a period of time are several: DAYA will know it can depend on a specific amount of funding and will not continually be wondering if and when it might come in. The child’s feelings of security and self worth are enhanced when he/she knows there is someone who cares about them on a continuing basis. The sponsor may build a loving bond with the child via postal letters and e-mail communication. Your correspondence will always be answered. You may send your sponsorship amount monthly, or in bimonthly, quarterly or annual increments.
