DAYA Children's Home for Dalit (SC/ST) Children

The DAYA Children's Home Project was established in 2004 in the heart of Bhubaneswar, Orissa State, India to provide care to orphans. Currently 29 children live on site, receiving education, food, clothing, parental love and care. Originally the children are mostly from a remote tribal area where schooling and medical care are not available. At DAYA Children's Home in Bhubaneswar they are enrolled in school and are doing well. They also have received their immunizations and medical care is available when needed. Their diet consists of wholesome, nutritious food. The children are happy and are cared for by a dedicated staff who help them with their homework, take them on outings to the park and the zoo and do the countless things that all good parents do for their youngsters. DAYA Children’s Home has many needs and we would greatly appreciate your generous contributions and help. You can sponsor a child or make a general donation to the home.The sponsorship amount per child is $30 (US) per month.

Sudhamoyee Slum School Project

We have set up a slum day care school for Sardapali slum dwellers. Mostly the parents are addicted to drugs and alcohol. The children are not being sent to school by them. So taking this challenge DAYA is now giving education to 20 slum children. The children are learning basic alphabet, songs and stories. Once a week we give them a meal with rice, dal and eggs and on one other day we give them snacks of plain cookies. You could sponsor a child in Sudhamoyee slum school by supplying an education and food.

Grace Project

In Grace Project we help poor families financially and sometimes build simple houses for them. There are several poor familes who survive in great poverty and and those are refugee. You could sponsor to build a house through Grace Project.To bulid one house for a family costs $2000 (US).

Sponsorship Program for needy children or a Dalit Child

Many children in slum unable to go school or get food. You could sponsor a child for his/her studies and food.The sponsorship amount is $20(US)per month.

* Applique training program for ST women sponsored by OSFDC, Orissa.

* Income generation program for Schedule Tribe women such as Mushroom Culture training etc supported by IWDP, Orissa.

* Literacy program in the district of Phulbani sponsored by LIT Chennai.

* Public Distribution System for people under BPL sponsored by District Authorities, Kandhamal.

* Intervention in agriculture development for self support.

* Establishment of education centres for SC/ST children at Phulbani town and Sankarakhol village of the district of Kandhamal for self support.

* Health awareness campaigns and Check up camps with assistance from the Government PHC.

* Health Care Programme supported by the Rotary club of Phulbani.

* Relief to victims and minorities with coperation of Churches and individual support.
